I am tagged by Remi Woler and now i have to participate in a sort of pyramid personal disclosure Blog thing. I hate pyramid schemes but don't want to spoil it for Remi, Ivo, Matthew, Marcus, Andi and others, so here are my seven things:
- My first computer was a Commodore Vic-20. My father bought it in 1981 when i was ten years old. The computer came with a Basic programming manual and a casette-drive, but without software or games. This situation triggered me to write my first “Hello World!” program.
- In 1985 my father was electronics engineer and he pushed me to learn the Forth programming language because he needed someone to program his embedded devices. This resulted in my first embedded “Hello World!” application.
- I once had collection of bird eating spiders a.k.a. tarantulas. I used these spiders to test my Biosphere mark ][ climate controller, one of my graduate projects. The spiders are gone now.
- After the spider experiment, i changed the tarantulas for a cat and made the “Catbot“, an electronic friend for my cat. I learned that cats don't like robots because they have the same effect on a cat as a vacuumcleaner.
- The catbot is now replaced by PHPbot, a robot controlled by some PHP scripts. This device is still under development.
- I believe that the consumption of good homemade icecream results in instant short-term happiness.
- I hate pyramid schemes
